About Scallwags Pre-School in Edgworth

Scallywags Pre-School is run by a Voluntary Management Committee. We have a charity status and are registered with OFSTED. The committee members act as trustees for the charity which every charity must have. At the annual general meeting held each October, a committee is elected by parents, to administer and be responsible for the policies of the group, employment of the staff, fund raising and compliance with any regulations. The committee works closely with the staff for the benefit of the pre-school. Committee members generally need to be dedicated to the pre-school but need no particular specialist skills.

If you are interested in becoming a committee member please contact the chairperson. Our pre-school is also a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. The pre-school manager is responsible for the care and well being of children and staff. She and the other members of staff enable the group to run smoothly by planning and organising the sessions as a team. We are proud of the high ratio of staff to children in our group. This ensures relevant attention is given to the needs and development of each child.
